Harford County Under Flash Flood Watch Thursday

Slow-moving storms pose a threat in Harford County and around the state, the National Weather Service advised.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A flash flood watch is in effect for much of the state as showers and thunderstorms spread across the Baltimore-Washington region, including Harford County.

Slow-moving showers and thunderstorms could lead to several inches of rain in areas that are repeatedly affected.

Rapid rises in streams and low-lying areas may result in flash flooding, which is a life-threatening situation.

These areas are included in a flash flood watch, effective until midnight:

  • Anne Arundel County
  • Baltimore City
  • Baltimore County
  • Calvert County
  • Carroll County
  • Charles County
  • Harford County
  • Howard County
  • Montgomery County
  • Prince George's County
  • St. Mary's County

On Friday, scattered thunderstorms may also cause flooding, according to a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service.
