Harford Day School Named National Blue Ribbon School 2018
The U.S. Department of Education designated seven Maryland schools National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2018, including one in Bel Air.

BEL AIR, MD — Harford Day School has been named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2018. The U.S. Department of Education announced the 349 award winners Monday, which included the private school in Bel Air as well as six other schools around Maryland.
National Blue Ribbon Schools are identified in two categories – "exemplary achievement gap closing" and "exemplary high performing."
Harford Day School, which is the oldest private independent school in Harford County, was honored for being an exemplary high performing school, measured by state assessments or national standards.

There will be an awards ceremony to recognize Harford Day School and all 349 National Blue Ribbon Schools from Nov. 7 to Nov. 8 in Washington, D.C.
Now in its 36th year, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has highlighted more than 8,800 educational institutions that have test scores in the top 15 percent in their state and no major gaps among students from different demographics.
