Harford Day School Scholarship

Bel Air, MD, Dec. 2, 2016—Harford Day School is now accepting applications for the 2017/18 school year. All applicants to 6th Grade will be considered for the Mannion Scholarship, a 50% tuition award, currently valued at $8,170 per year for 3 years. The scholarship recipient will have a record of strong academic achievement and excellent school citizenship. He or she will demonstrate superior admissions test scores and a strong desire to contribute to Harford Day School both inside and outside of the classroom. Financial need is not a criterion for this award.

The Mannion Award was established in memory of the late Frederick Mannion, a 1966 alumnus of Harford Day School. Mannion was a National Merit Scholar in high school, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. In 1975 he earned his medical degree in ophthalmology from Baylor College of Medicine. Before his untimely death in 1986, his professional accomplishments included the introduction of two types of lasers for eye surgery at Cadillac, Michigan’s Mercy Hospital.
