Harford Mall To Close For Thanksgiving 2017

Restaurants and retailers with separate entrances may remain open.

BEL AIR, MD — Holiday shoppers looking to score deals the day before Black Friday at the Harford Mall will have to wait until Friday comes; for 2017, the mall is going to be closed on Thanksgiving.

"We want you to spend Thanksgiving with your family and friends, then wake up early to spend Black Friday with us," Stephen Lebovitz, president/CEO of CBL Properties, said in a statement. CBL Properties manages dozens of shopping centers in 27 states, including the Harford Mall in Maryland.

Those who want to hit certain parts of the mall on Thanksgiving may be able to get into the shopping center on Bel Air Road; stores and restaurants with separate entrances may be open, but the main doors will be closed and access will be restricted to common areas in the mall, according to CBL Properties.

Dear Shopper,

Thanksgiving is a special holiday. It is one of the few days when we can gather with family and friends to give thanks, share a meal and just enjoy time together. Last year CBL Properties wanted to do our part to preserve this wonderful tradition and made the decision to close our centers on Thanksgiving. While we believed this was the right choice, we were thrilled with the overwhelming amount of support and appreciation from our employees, our retailers, and most of all you – our shoppers and members of the communities that we serve.
This year, we are doing it again. We are proud to announce that our properties will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will reopen at 6 am on Black Friday. We want you to spend Thanksgiving with your family and friends, then wake up early to spend Black Friday with us. Black Friday is a great tradition as it marks the official start of the holiday shopping season. At CBL centers, we are kicking it off with Black Friday deals, exciting giveaways and doorbusters so amazing you won’t want to miss it!

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! We can’t wait to see you on Friday.

Sincerely,
Stephen Lebovitz
President & CEO, CBL Properties
