Man Charged in Perryman Homicide: Sheriff

Deputies responded to pedestrian struck and found man behind the wheel had been shot, according to Harford County Sheriff's Office.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office reports it has obtained an arrest warrant charging a man with murder in connection with a death in Perryman this week involving an alleged love triangle.

James Allean Ashford, 38, is charged with first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault and firearms offenses, the report said.

Both the victim and Ashford “had been involved in a current or former relationship with the same woman,” according to Kyle Andersen, spokesman for the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

At 8:11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, deputies responded to the 400 block of Busby Road for a pedestrian struck in a domestic dispute and discovered Ashford had been hit by a vehicle, the sheriff’s office reported.

Deputies located the vehicle nearby and as they approached, they found that the driver had been shot, the report said.

Joshua Allen Walter, 28, had a gunshot wound to the upper body and was taken to Harford Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to the report.

Ashford was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, the sheriff’s office reported. He was in custody at the hospital Wednesday, The Aegis reported.
