Harford County School, Government Closings For Jan 8
Schools in Harford County will dismiss early on Monday, Jan. 8. Some centers in Harford County government will also close ahead of schedule.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — With a wintry mix in the forecast Monday afternoon and evening, public schools and senior centers in Harford County have modified their schedules. Dismissal time will occur earlier than usual in schools, and afternoon and evening activities have been canceled, officials announced.
Schools and school offices will close three hours early, according to Harford County Public Schools.
Harford County senior centers will close at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8. Senior activities at or after 1 p.m. are canceled.

Harford County is under a winter weather advisory calling for freezing rain during the afternoon and evening commute. Roads may be slippery, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued the winter weather advisory from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8.
Harford County Public School officials cited the impending weather in announcing the following schedule modifications for Monday, Jan. 8:

All afternoon and evening activities, including Board of Education meetings, are canceled on Monday, Jan. 8, officials reported. Second shift custodians should not report to work.
Afternoon prekindergarten is canceled, school officials announced Monday morning.
Morning prekindergarten students will go home with elementary school students at 12:30 p.m. at third-tier schools and at 1 p.m. in fourth-tier elementary schools, officials said.
