Harford Sheriff Identifies Suspect in Motel 6 Robbery

Authorities said the motel in Edgewood was robbed earlier this month by a man with a knife.

The suspect in an armed robbery at the Edgewood Motel 6 has been apprehended, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday.

Jonathan James Hartz, 22, of the 1700 block of Edgewood Road, was identified as the suspect and taken into custody on Thursday, July 16, according to the report.

The Motel 6 in the 1700 block of Edgewood Road was robbed at knifepoint at 1:06 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

Afterward, there was a reward of up to $2,000 for information. The sheriff’s office thanked citizens for their tips and distribution of the information after police released surveillance images from the holdup.
