Harford State's Attorney Announces Retirement from Office
The top prosecutor in Harford County said that he's planning to leave his job in the coming months.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The top prosecutor in Harford County has announced plans to retire.
State's Attorney Joseph Cassilly will leave office on Jan. 1, 2017, according to the Associated Press.
Cassilly has been the Harford County State's Attorney since January 1983.

He reportedly said that his reason for leaving office was that some of the murder cases "will not leave my memory," according to a letter he provided to The Aegis. "It is time for me to leave," Cassilly wrote.
