Havre de Grace Under Winter Weather Advisory

Winter weather advisory calls for snow, sleet, freezing rain.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of the region, including Havre de Grace.

The winter weather advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain is in effect from 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, to noon on Saturday, Jan. 24.

Untreated roads and sidewalks may be slippery, and drivers should be prepared for reduced visibilities, the weather service reported.

A wintry mix of snow and sleet will begin falling Friday night, the advisory states.

Precipitation will transition to freezing rain overnight, then taper off late Saturday morning, according to the advisory.

Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties are under the winter weather advisory, in addition to the District of Columbia and much of Virginia.

The Washington metro area will get 1 inch of accumulation, while those north and west of the Interstate 95 corridor and the Mason-Dixon line may be in for 1 to 3 inches, according to the advisory.
