Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Maryland
Damaging winds are possible Tuesday in Maryland, where there is a small chance of a tornado, according to the National Weather Service.
MARYLAND — Severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a hazardous weather outlook for parts of central and western Maryland. "An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out," the National Weather Service reported.
The Baltimore-Washington area is most likely to experience storms between 6 and 8 p.m.
Damaging winds and small hail are possible.

The areas most likely to see strong storms are north of Interstate 66/US 50, the National Weather Service advised Tuesday afternoon.

The hazardous weather outlook applies to the following:
- Allegany County
- Anne Arundel County
- Baltimore City
- Baltimore County
- Calvert County
- Carroll County
- Charles County
- Frederick County
- Harford County
- Howard County
- Montgomery County
- Prince George's County
- St. Mary's County
- Washington County
The National Weather Service issued the hazardous weather outlook for Maryland, noting the small chance of a tornado, hours after a twister ripped through Tennessee, leaving multiple fatalities in its wake.
The hazardous weather outlook in Maryland also applies to eastern West Virginia and northern and central Virginia.
Officials say there is also a slight threat of a winter storm Friday night along the Allegany Front in western Maryland as well as eastern West Virginia and far western Virginia. If it comes to fruition, the winter weather could impact travel.
Here is the Baltimore-Washington forecast, according to the National Weather Service:
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 4 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m, then a slight chance of showers between 1 and 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 43. West wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58 and low around 37. West wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 52 and low around 38. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. A slight chance of evening showers. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47 and low near 33. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. A chance of rain and snow showers in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 46 and low around 30.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 58 and low near 40.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.
