HCC Men's Lacrosse Coach Steps Down
Hugh Donovan is moving on to coach at a Division III university in Pennsylvania.

Harford Community College provided the following information:
Men’s lacrosse head coach Hugh Donovan has resigned his position at Harford to take the same position at Immaculata University, an NCAA Division III school in southeastern Pennsylvania. Two-year assistant coach Aaron Verardi will take over as interim head coach for the 2015 season.
Donovan compiled a 37-29 record in his four-year stint as the Fighting Owls leader. He was named MD JUCO Coach of the Year two times and guided the team to its best campaign in program history in 2013. That season, Donovan led Harford to a 12-6 record and an NJCAA At-Large bid into the National Tournament.
Donovan mentored eight NJCAA All-Americans, including a school-record four in 2014. He also coached 23 all-conference and all-region student-athletes in his four seasons at the helm. In each of the last two seasons, Donovan coached the MD JUCO Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.
He will take over an Immaculata team that was 1-13 last season and opens the 2015 campaign on February 24.
Verardi has served as an assistant coach under Donovan for the past two seasons. He was an integral part of the record-breaking 2013 Fighting Owl men’s lacrosse season, helping Harford reach the NJCAA National Tournament.
