Harford County is under a wind chill advisory from 6 p.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday.
During the advisory period, wind chills are expected to be 10 to 20 degrees below zero, and frostbite could set in within as little as 30 minutes.
A wind chill advisory means that cold air and wind will combine to create low wind chills, and people must take precautions — dressing in layers, wearing a hat and putting on gloves — to stay safe outside.
Harford County Public Schools shared that roads and sidewalks are particularly difficult to treat when temperatures fall below freezing and thanked all the staff members who have been working to make these areas safe.
