HCPS To Set Up Learning Support Centers

Parents have been asked to notify Harford County Public Schools about plans for learning this year.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — To ensure everyone has access to online learning resources, Harford County Public Schools is preparing to open virtual learning support centers for the 2020–2021 academic year.

The centers will be run and staffed by Harford County Public Schools employees.

Learning Support Centers will be open on all school days, officials said.

The idea is to provide support for those who may need it while learning goes virtual. Last week Harford County Public Schools announced that courses will be entirely online for the fall semester due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Students in kindergarten through 9th grade will receive Chromebooks, and those in 9th grade and up will receive Windows-based laptops.

Parents received intention forms Tuesday and were asked to let the school system immediately know whether they planned to use the Harford County Public Schools Learning Support Centers.
