Equipment Convoy May Be on Harford Roads Thursday: SHA

The State Highway Administration advises drivers that a convoy will be on the move on MD 136 and US 1.

UPDATE: Due to mechanical issues, the heavy machinery move planned to take place in Harford County did not happen on Wednesday and was pushed back a day, according to the State Highway Administration.

As a result, the hauling company will attempt to transport the large utility generator at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, state highway officials reported.

Drivers should be aware that the convoy is currently at the Harford Sanitary Company on US 1 at MD 136.

The equipment will make another attempt to take US 1 to MD 136 to the Pennsylvania state line starting at 9 p.m.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A large piece of utility equipment will be moving from Maryland to Pennsylvania via Harford County Wednesday evening, according to the State Highway Administration.

At 9 p.m. on Wednesday, the convoy with utility generating equipment will start traveling along US 1 to MD 136, the administration reported.

By 5 a.m., the heavy equipment will be at the Maryland-Pennsylvania line, according to the report.

The next heavy move is slated for 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, when a convoy will travel from Vulcan Quarry in Havre de Grace along MD 155 to MD 161, the State Highway Administration reported.
