Heavy Fire Inside Riverside McDonald's: Officials
McDonald's in Belcamp was evacuated Sunday after fire broke out, Harford County emergency personnel report.
BELCAMP, MD – The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a kitchen blaze at the McDonald's that caused an evacuation of the restaurant on Riverside Parkway, authorities say.
At approximately 5 p.m., firefighters responded to the 1300 block of Riverside Parkway and saw fire and smoke coming from the McDonald's, according to Mike Laslo, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
The building was evacuated and crews from Abingdon, Joppa-Magnolia, Aberdeen and Aberdeen Proving Ground responded to help fight the blaze, Laslo said.

They encountered heavy fire inside the restaurant, officials reported.
By 5:15 p.m., the fire had been knocked; the blaze was contained to the cooking area, according to Laslo.

Laslo said firefighters were clearing the scene as of 6 p.m., while the Office of the State Fire Marshal was investigating the cause.
