Roads Reopen After Flooding In Harford, Officials Say

Multiple weather alerts are in effect, including a flood warning, flash flood warning and flash flood watch.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Several roads have reopened after being closed due to high water Friday night in Harford County.

High water was reported at the intersection of Route 40/Pulaski Highway at Joppa Farm Road, which reopened by 8:40 p.m., according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

US 1 south was closed before the exit for MD 152 but has since reopened, and so has Singer Road north of MD 152.

A flash flood warning is in effect until 11:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued the warning after radar showed up to 3 inches of rain in the area at 7:41 p.m. with thunderstorms continuing to pour heavy rain down on the area.

Life-threatening flash flooding is possible around creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, according to the warning.

These areas may flood, according to the warning: Middle River, Aberdeen, Bel Air South, Parkville,
Bel Air North, Carney, Perry Hall, Rosedale, Rossville, White Marsh, Fallston, Riverside, Hampton, Kingsville, Pleasant Hills, Jarrettsville, Perryman, Edgewood, Joppatowne and Nottingham.

Turn around — don't drown — when encountering flooded roads.
