Home Destroyed By Edgewood Fire, Fundraiser Begins

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist the family whose home was lost in a Thanksgiving fire.

EDGEWOOD, MD — After a fire destroyed the home of a family in Edgewood on Thanksgiving, an online fundraising campaign is underway to help its members rebuild.

"Our family of four suffered a total loss of our home and possessions on Thanksgiving Day due to a fire that began in our shed and spread onto and throughout our home," the residents wrote on the GoFundMe campaign page. "By the grace of God, everyone was able to get out safely but we have to begin the process of finding a new home and starting over. We are extremely grateful to be receiving so many offers of help and want to thank anyone able to assist us getting back on our feet."

The goal of the fundraiser is $50,000; and as of Sunday morning, $1,575 had been raised.
