Dogs Perished in Fallston Blaze, Says Fire Marshal

There was $400,000 in damage as the result of Monday's house fire, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reported.

Four dogs were lost in a house fire in Fallston Monday, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

At 11:45 a.m. on Monday, the homeowner reported the fire at his home in the 2300 block of Kings Arms Drive, the fire marshal reported.

He had been out of the house and found the blaze upon returning home, according to the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company.

Crews from seven fire companies responded, according to the fire marshal: Fallston, Joppa-Magnolia, Bel Air, Jarrettsville, Kingsville, Long Green and Hereford.

The two-alarm fire started in the kitchen, according to the fire marshal, who ruled the incident accidental due to an electrical failure.

The blaze left $200,000 in structural damage, according to the fire marshal, who said $200,000 worth of items inside were also lost. Four dogs perished in the blaze, the fire marshal said.

The family was reportedly being assisted by relatives.

A fire in Fallston heavily damaged a home Monday, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

At 11:45 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to Kings Arm Drive and found smoke showing from the roof, Gardiner said.

The fire was in the 2300 block of Kings Arms Drive in Fallston, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, which assisted the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company in putting it out.

The blaze was declared a two-alarm fire as of 12:07 p.m., Joppa-Magnolia reported.

King Arms Drive is closed to traffic, according to the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company, which reported before 1 p.m. that multiple crews were at the scene, where the incident was still “active.”
