House Fire Sends One to Hospital: Joppa-Magnolia VFC

Blaze shut down a road, injured one first responder, according to fire company.

A house fire in the Joppa area Wednesday morning sent one person to the hospital and caused a three-hour road closure, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

Crews responded to a house fire in the 2600 block of Old Joppa Road at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday and found flames coming from the roof of a singe-story home, the fire company reported.

Bel Air sent two engines and two chiefs to the scene to assist, according to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

Joppa-Magnolia reported the fire had been placed under control at 3:09 a.m.

One Joppa-Magnolia firefighter was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for treatment of a minor injury, according the report.

By 5:15 a.m., Old Joppa Road had reopened, according to Joppa-Magnolia.
