ABERDEEN, MD – The IronBirds will pay tribute to Harford County's fallen heroes this season at home and away games, the team announced this week.

Two seats have been reserved at Ripken Stadium for Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey and Deputy First-Class Mark Logsdon, which will remain empty in their honor this season.

Dailey, 52, and Logsdon, 43, were gunned down in Abingdon on Feb. 10 by a man later killed by authorities.

The officers' badge numbers will be painted on Leidos Field at the stadium as well.

The Aberdeen IronBirds, a short-season affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, will open the season on the road June 17 in New York.

For opening night in Aberdeen on Wednesday, June 22, the team will host a pregame dedication ceremony that will include a moment of silence for Dailey and Logsdon. Families of the fallen officers will throw the first pitch.

“This is a powerful opportunity to honor and pay tribute to the local deputies who gave their lives while serving the citizens of Harford County,” Senior Vice President of Ripken Baseball Glenn Valis said.

“As a former law enforcement officer and father of two who currently serve," said Valis, "it is incredibly important that we continue to honor...those who have passed in the line of duty as well as those who continue to keep our communities safe every day, locally and throughout the country."
