Jeffrey Duane Artrip Jr., 15, of Bel Air, passed away suddenly on Feb. 4, 2018, at his home. Born in Elkton, he was the adopted son of Vern and Marilyn "Skip" Skinner. He was a 10th grade student at Patterson Mill High School. An accomplished musician, while in the 8th grade he made 1st chair, double bass in the All County Orchestra. He achieved Life Scout in Troop #313 at Christ our King Church in Bel Air. Also, Jeffrey worked in the student ministry by assisting Ms. Kay with the Kindergarten Class at Mountain Christian Church.
In addition to his adoptive parents, Jeffrey is survived by his uncle, Brian Artrip; mother, Michelle Johnson Short; grandparents, Arvil and Georgia Artrip; grandmother, Margaret Johnson; step-sister, Madison Lane; sisters, Kendall Artrip, Angelina Johnson, and Ashely Maxwell. He is also survived by extended loving family, his sweetheart Maggie Holly and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Duane Artrip and stepmother, Heidi Lane Artrip.
