John Andrew Jager, 68; Former Abingdon Motorcycle Shop Owner

John Andrew Jager, 68, of Joppa, passed away on May 17, 2015, at his home.

Born in Baltimore, he is the son of Margaret Mary Gries Jager of Cockeysville and the late John Bernard Jager.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of J&L Mechanical for 25 years; and from 1977 to 1980, he owned Jager Brothers Motorcycle Shop in Abingdon. He was a founding member of Iron Express Motorcycle Club and loved fishing, camping and boating. He served as vice president of the Joppatowne Rec Council, where he coached his children in both softball and baseball. He was a wonderful husband, dad and Pop-Pop.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Jager is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda J. (Loerop) Jager; sons John Andrew Jager Jr. and wife Laura of Joppa and Chad Bernard Jager of Joppa; daughter Kellie Lynn Wright and husband Tim of Joppa; brother Richard Jager of Carney; sister Peggy Bandelin of Cockeysville; and grandchildren Alyssa Marie Jager, Jack Andrew Jager, Madilyn Aubrey Jager, Autumn Noelle Wright and Austin James Weinkam-Wright.

The visitation and memorial service were held Thursday, May 21, at McComas Funeral Home, in Abingdon.
