A couple from Joppa who enjoys traveling plans to take a cruise after the boyfriend won $50K on a scratch-off ticket.
JOPPA, MD — A recent lottery winner plans to use his $50,000 winnings to relax and unwind on a cruise.
Brian Hutchison of Joppa enjoys playing $20 scratch-off tickets. On weekends, he and his girlfriend will purchase and play them together. He claimed his $50,000 winning prize recently at Maryland Lottery headquarters, which he won on the 100X the Cash game.
Hutchison had stopped at the Wawa at 3500 Woodsale Road in Abingdon on his way to his girlfriend's house. Always on the lookout for newly released scratch-offs, he saw that the $20 100X the Cash game had launched a few weeks prior and decided to give it a try.

When he first scratched his ticket, he overlooked the $50,000 prize, which matched the number nine. But just to be safe, he scanned it using the lottery app. That's when he discovered his big prize.
Hutchison works as a government contractor and plans to use the winnings to take a cruise vacation with his girlfriend.
