Judge Delays Trial For Accused Baltimore County Cop Shooter: Report
David Linthicum is accused of shooting two law enforcement officers during a three-day manhunt that ended in Harford County.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A judge on Tuesday postponed the trial of a Cockeysville man accused of shooting two Baltimore County law enforcement officers during a three-day manhunt in February, according to a report.
David Linthicum is charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder and several other charges after police arrested him following an eight-hour standoff in a wooded area of Harford County on Feb. 10. Authorities said during the manhunt, Linthicum shot a Baltimore County police officer and detective.
Linthicum’s trial date was scheduled for Nov. 2, but last month, defense attorneys asked the judge to postpone it, citing the need for more time to gather evidence.

On Feb. 8, Baltimore County police responded to a call about a person in distress at a home on Sherwood Road in Cockeysville. Linthicum fired several shots, hitting one officer before fleeing, police said.
Police searched for Linthicum for over two days. During the manhunt, Linthicum shot a Baltimore County detective several times and stole his official police vehicle.
Linthicum then drove out of Baltimore County and abandoned the vehicle after police used spike strips to disable it, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. He sought refuge in a wooded area near a shopping mall in Fallston, trying to elude officers.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office arrested Linthicum on Feb. 10 following an hours-long standoff.
Linthicum is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
