EDGEWOOD, MD — Officials are looking for the man who tried to carjack one woman in the parking lot of the Edgewood Food Lion, then kidnapped another woman and stole her vehicle. Investigators have been searching for the man since Saturday, Sept. 14.

Devon Allen Odell Scott, 36, who has an address in Edgewood, is considered armed and dangerous, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Law enforcement officials reported Sunday afternoon that they have a warrant for Scott's arrest in connection with Saturday's kidnapping and armed carjacking.

Officials said Scott approached a woman in the Food Lion parking lot in the 2200 block of Hanson Road in Edgewood and asked him to call her a cab. Then he grabbed her arm and tried to get in her vehicle at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.

A little while later, a woman reported she had been carjacked, and investigators said they believed the suspect was the same man. He approached her in the Food Lion parking lot, then got into the passenger side of her vehicle and held her at knifepoint, ordering her to drive to a location nearby, officials said. When he told her to stop and then began to undress, authorities said the woman escaped and ran to call 911. Deputies were called to the 700 block of Monticello Court, as the suspect drove away in her car.

Officials from the K-9 and aviation units searched the area overnight along with officers on patrol, and they found the victim's vehicle. However, Scott was nowhere to be found.
