Kidnapping Victim Escapes from Trunk Off MD 543, Witnesses Wanted: Police
A man was arrested in Abingdon in a kidnapping case after a woman said she got out of the vehicle and ran to Cracker Barrel: Police
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Troopers are asking for witnesses in a kidnapping case in which the victim escaped from the trunk of a vehicle on MD 543 near the Interstate 95 interchange last week.
Officials said they have a suspect in custody. Ransom Ingram Jr., 35, of the 6600 block of English Oak Road in Parkville, has been charged with kidnapping, assault, false imprisonment and other offenses, according to court records. He was arrested on Oct. 8.
Police said the investigation led to Ingram after the victim got out of the trunk of a vehicle and ran to Cracker Barrel at 1440 Handlir Drive near Bel Air, where police were called around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7.

The victim alleged she had been held against her will for several days, according to Maryland State Police, who provided aid and escorted her to the hospital for medical treatment.
Through investigation, officials said they identified Ingram as the suspect, and they took him into custody without incident from a residence in Abingdon on Saturday, Oct. 8.

He is charged with first- and second-degree assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, using a firearm to commit a felony, illegal possession of a firearm, having a handgun on his person, reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, according to court records. He is slated to appear in Harford County District Court in Bel Air on Nov. 7 for a preliminary hearing.
Investigators are asking for anyone who may have seen the victim escape the vehicle to assist in the investigation.
