There are several specials for those placing Thanksgiving orders on Friday in person at the Bel Air store.
The opening marks a homecoming for owner and nationally celebrated chef Jason Hisley, who grew up in Bel Air and was head pastry chef at Bel Air's Flavor Cupcakery when the store won "Cupcake Wars" in 2011. He opened his first La Cakerie location in 2012 in Towson. At the time, he told Patch that he hoped to open a store in Harford County one day. Since then, he has also set up shop in Mount Vernon in Baltimore.

Hisley graduated from Bel Air High School in 2006, then went on to earn his bachelor's degree in baking and pastry arts from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. He also trained in European bakeries.
In a storefront along South Main Street, La Cakerie in Bel Air is located where the Jaded Bean and its predecessor Shamrock Coffee used to be.
La Cakerie is at 22 South Main Street in Bel Air.
