La-Z-Boy Parking Lot Holdup In Bel Air: 5 Charged, Police Say
Police said tips from the public helped with the investigation into the robbery and assault outside a Bel Air business on Marketplace Drive.

BEL AIR, MD — Five people have been charged in connection with an armed robbery outside La-Z-Boy in Bel Air. The Bel Air Police Department reports that a six-month investigation culminated in the arrest of four juveniles and one adult.
The robbery took place in the parking lot of the La-Z Boy in the 500 block of Marketplace Drive, according to police.
A man was in the parking lot when a stranger approached him at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10. The suspect showed a semiautomatic handgun and took the victim's wallet, police said.

In addition to having $2,000 stolen, officials said the victim was assaulted.

Four youths are facing charges in connection with the robbery. Their identities were not disclosed due to the fact that they were charged as juveniles.
Khalil Duncan, 20, of the 700 block of Clifton Terrace Drive in Bel Air, was charged with eight crimes:
- Armed robbery
- Conspiracy to commit armed robbery
- Robbery
- Conspiracy to commit robbery
- First-degree assault
- Second-degree assault
- Theft from $1,500 to under $25,000
- Using a firearm in a felony crime
"The Bel Air Police Department wishes to thank the members of the public who came forward with tips and other information related to this investigation," police said in a statement on Friday, March 22.
Duncan was arrested March 13 and released the following day after posting $20,000 bond, according to court records. He is slated to appear for a preliminary hearing in Harford County District Court on April 11.
