Lane Closures Expected This Week On Darlington Road Bridge During Construction Project
Expect temporary lane closures this week on Darlington Road Bridge over Deer Creek in Harford County for a construction project.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — This week, drivers can expect temporary lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the MD 161 (Darlington Road) bridge over Deer Creek in Harford County.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration's contractors will be replacing metal barriers (railings) and enhancing safety on the 278-foot-long bridge by installing a new traffic warning sign. The $2.7 million project should be complete by fall 2023, weather permitting.
Flagging operations to control two-way traffic will be implemented along with electronic signs, barrels and cones to direct two-way traffic through the one-lane bridge work zone. Once the temporary traffic signal system is installed, two-way traffic on one lane of the bridge will be controlled by the signal 24 hours a day, seven days a week until the work is completed.
