Laurel Bush Road Nears Reopening

After months of construction, Laurel Bush Road will be open to vehicles by end of the week.

Laurel Bush Road will open by the close of business on Friday, Dec. 18, according to Harford County officials; the date is weather-permitting.

The road has been striped, signs have been installed and paving has been completed.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the concrete was curing so that it will be able to handle the weight of traffic.

The road closed in August for installation of a roundabout and utility construction, and Harford County officials anticipated work would take 60 days.

Laurel Bush Road was closed between Overview Drive and Burgh-Westra Way.

Utility issues delayed the road’s opening, according to the Harford County Department of Public Works Bureau of Highway Engineering, which said contractors and utility personnel from BGE and Verizon had not communicated about the project, which was privately funded.

County officials said Verizon had temporarily relocated utility poles Wednesday so contractors could finish paving.
