Lightning Strike Sparks Fire In Harford County Home's Laundry Room
Lightning is believed to have sparked a fire in an Edgewood home's laundry room, causing $50K in damage to the home and its contents.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A lightning strike is believed to have sparked a fire in the laundry room of an Edgewood home Friday shortly after 9 p.m.
The fire was discovered by the residents of the home.
More than two dozen firefighters with the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to the fire, which they had under control within five minutes. The home, located at 403 Trimble Fields Drive, sustained $50,000 in damage to the structure and to property within the home, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
