Local Volunteer Holds Gatsby Fundraiser for CASA of Harford County

Volunteer and board member Pamela Dorsey raised more than $7,000 for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Harford County.

On August 23, 2014, Fallston resident, Pamela Dorsey, threw herself a grand party to celebrate her birthday at the Grey Rock Mansion in Pikesville, MD, to benefit CASA of Harford County.

The party had a Great Gatsby/Harlem Nights theme. The evening was filled with great food by Simply Elegant Catering, a jazz quartet, table games and a photo fun station for guests to have a memento of the event to take with them. Guests arrived in period outfits including tuxedos, fringed flapper dresses and lots of feathered boas and head pieces.

Ms. Dorsey planned this event for over a year and it was always her intention to use this as a vehicle to raise money for CASA, a cause that is very near and dear to her heart. Ms. Dorsey has been an active CASA Volunteer for over 3 years and served on the board for the past year and a half. The evening was a tremendous success and through the amazing generosity of Ms. Dorsey, her family and friends, over $7,000 was raised for CASA.

ASA Director Ross DiEdoardo, who was in attendance at the event to accept a check from Ms. Dorsey, commented: “We could not be more grateful to Pam for sharing her big day with CASA. She is a wonderful person and an amazing advocate for children and we are very blessed to have her as a part of our organization.”
