A new, eight-foot-tall sculpture welcomes visitors to Harford County’s Ma & Pa Trail near Annie’s Playground at Edgeley Grove Park in Fallston. The bronze sculpture is a half-size replica of the front of the original Maryland & Pennsylvania (Ma & Pa) Railroad Engine No. 6 and features a double-faced design for visibility from both directions on the trail.

Funding for the sculpture was provided by Bel Air residents Jack and Signe Shagena. The artwork, designed by sculptor Brad Vanneman of Wilmington, Delaware, commemorates the past and enhances the experience for visitors along Harford’s most popular trail.

The Ma & Pa Railroad rolled through Harford County from 1901-1958 transporting passengers and delivering a variety of products between Baltimore and Pennsylvania.
