Magic is in the Air at Halloween House in Joppa: VIDEO
Decked out with eerie characters, Halloween lights, music and movie clips, this Halloween house is billed as spooky yet family friendly.
JOPPA, MD — Halloween is the favorite holiday for one Joppa woman, and she has the house to prove it.
"People probably think I'm a little crazy, but I love getting to feel the magic of being a kid again...even though I'm turning 23 in November," said Briana Leigh. "I decorate for Christmas too but Halloween has always been my favorite."
Leigh has been decorating her home on Pine Road for five years, and this year is the most elaborate setup yet, she said, telling Patch she began working on it in July and installing yard pieces in September.

"As you start driving onto our street, you can actually see the lights coming up through the woods," Leigh said.

New this year are a projector showing clips from movies like Hocus Pocus, Practical Magic, Halloween Town and her favorite — Beetlejuice.
"Each night is something different when you drive up," Leigh said. "You could see dancing skeletons or dancing Winona Ryder jamming to 'Jump in the Line' — you just never know!"
According to Leigh, the display is family friendly and not gruesome. "I like skeletons, witches and spooky-type Halloween [characters]," she said. "I am not into the gruesome Halloween aspects."
This is the first year Leigh, who is a student in the EKG program at Harford Community College, has put the word out about her display, and she said the feedback so far has been positive.
