Mailbox Filled with Explosives in Bel Air: Fire Marshal
The Harford County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a homeowner discovered a strange delivery.

BEL AIR, MD – Fire investigators were called to Bel Air Friday morning to look into an explosion in a mailbox.
Consumer-grade fireworks had been put into a mailbox and ignited in the 2000 block of Royal Fern Court, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, which conducted a post-blast investigation.
The homeowner had discovered the mailbox fire at approximately 10:17 a.m. on Friday and alerted authorities, the fire marshal reported. Authorities determined the fireworks had been intentionally put into the mailbox sometime Thursday night.

There was no damage to the mailbox, and nobody was injured, according to the report.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation.
