Crash Clears on I-95 in Harford County Near MD 543: MDTA

The backup was 4 miles long in the Belcamp area, Maryland Transportation Authority said.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — There were major delays on Interstate 95 in the area of MD 543 Thursday morning following a crash, transportation officials said. By 9:30 a.m., all lanes had reopened and authorities reported the crash had cleared.

The two-vehicle crash occurred before 8 a.m. The backup was 4 miles long by 8:30 a.m., according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. Backups reportedly extended to the MD 152 exit, and many drivers took US 1 as an alternate route.

As medics responded to the collision, two left lanes were blocked on I-95 north at MD 543. The two left lanes and left shoulder on I-95 north remained closed at 9 a.m. In addition, the left shoulder on I-95 south was blocked.
