Maryland MEP adds Michael Huppman, Perry Williams as Account Managers
Both New Employees Will Lead and Manage Technical Projects for the Organization's Targeted Manufacturing Clients
Columbia, Md. – The Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MD MEP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing manufacturing in the State of Maryland, announced today that the organization has expanded its team with two new Account Managers, Michael Huppman and Perry Williams. As Account Managers, Huppman and Williams will be responsible for building relationships and helping Maryland manufacturers look to MD MEP to improve manufacturing processes, products, sustainability, sales, and market size.
Huppman and Williams will each manage all activities within their defined territories, working to achieve company-client new and retained sales, job retention and growth, new capital investment, cost savings, and clients served. The two new MEP team members will also be responsible for identifying and electing prospective manufacturing clients to promote MD MEP service capabilities, developing and leveraging relationships with governmental organizations associated with MD MEP, and leading and directing various technical projects.
Williams began training and working with the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, a sister MEP organization, before recently relocating to Maryland. Prior to joining MD MEP, Williams served as a Project Manager and Engineer for Studsvik, Inc., a Swedish company that provides consultation and waste treatment services to the nuclear power industry. At Studsvik, Williams worked with the international nuclear community to develop sustainable processes for decommissioning and the disposal and decontamination of radioactive materials. He has also previously worked for General Motors and Norfolk Southern. Williams has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He currently lives in Baltimore City with his partner.

“I’m looking forward to leveraging what I learned in Michigan to help manufacturers here in Maryland succeed,” said Williams.
Prior to joining MD MEP, Huppman developed his career across various levels of manufacturing – from technician to management. In his most recent position, Huppman served as Operations Manager for Masterworks, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hexagon Lincoln, the national leader in composite pressure vessel manufacturing. In this role, Michael supported the production of industrial machinery and automation to serve the composites industry by managing workflow, providing production solutions, and instituting a total productive maintenance program.

“As a native Marylander, I am very excited to join the MD MEP team and apply my diverse experience to provide effective solutions to Maryland’s manufacturers,” said Huppman. “I am eager to not only apply my knowledge and skills to help MD MEP continue its mission and build its already stellar roster of Maryland manufacturers, but to expand my expertise to help further cultivate MD MEP’s brand as experts of and the sole resource for manufacturing in the State of Maryland.”
Huppman graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and received his MBA from Mount Saint Mary’s University. He currently resides in Hampstead, Maryland with his wife and three daughters.
