Route 24 Crash: One Flown To Hospital, Officials Say
Two vehicles crashed off Route 24 Sunday afternoon, closing the highway at Ring Factory Road for hours, according to authorities.
BEL AIR, MD — Authorities said a crash on Route 24 Sunday afternoon sent one person to the hospital. It also closed the road for more than two hours.
Two vehicles crashed on Route 24 in the area of Ring Factory Road at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
Crews from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and Abingdon Fire Company found the crash off the road with people trapped inside the two vehicles involved, officials reported.

After they rescued the victims from the wreck, crews medically evaluated one person on location, while a helicopter was requested for another person, according to the Abingdon Fire Company.

One person was airlifted by medevac to a regional trauma center, Gardiner said. The victim's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, he told Patch.
Route 24 was closed at Ring Factory Road, the Maryland State Highway Administration reported during the crash response.
By 4:35 p.m., officials said Route 24 had reopened.
Route 24 at Ring Factory Road is the same intersection where two people were killed and several others were injured in a 12-vehicle crash in March.
