Military Watercraft Use, Day And Night Weapons Testing At Aberdeen Proving Ground
Weapons testing will be conducted both day and night at Aberdeen Proving Ground this week, which includes the use of military watercraft.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD — The Aberdeen Proving Ground will hold military weapons testing from May 23-24 from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. as well as nighttime training exercises with firing and boat operations on May 21 and May 22 until 10 p.m.
Noise can be heard in areas off the installation during the testing period, authorities said in a news release. Military watercraft may be seen. Residents may hear weapons firing and see flashes or light visible off post from illumination devices. According to APG leadership, the testing is not hazardous to residents in surrounding communities.
"Organizations on APG take every measure to mitigate instances when training or testing becomes problematic to residents off the installation. To ensure we minimize the impact to our neighbors, we monitor the weather and the noise readings continuously throughout each day. APG leadership takes noise complaints very seriously and wants to provide as much transparency as possible to the surrounding communities without compromising the security of the missions conducted here," APG said in a notice.
