A Million Father March will jumpstart the new Harford Co. school year and encourages dads and male role models to take students to school.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A local Million Father March will be held in conjunction with the start of school for Harford County kids.

Harford County Public Schools students will head back to school Tuesday with an estimated 38,000 kids and 5,000 teachers in attendance. Superintendent Sean Bulson will be at Bakerfield Elementary for the march, which is a nationwide event designed to encourage fathers and other male role models to show support for their children's education by taking them to school.

There will be several places along the march's route where families can join in. It will start at the Aberdeen High School parking lot at 8:40 a.m. and cross West Bel Air Avenue then head toward the Aberdeen food truck park. The march will leave the park at 8:55 a.m., head across West Bel Air Avenue and head down Baker Street to the far parking lot, reports The Aegis.
