Miss Bel Air Independence Day Is Music Therapy Major

The hostess of Bel Air's Independence Day is a graduate of Edgewood High School and a music therapy major at Immaculata University.

BEL AIR, MD — A Bel Air native known for her commitment to the community has been selected as Miss Bel Air Independence Day and will serve as the hostess of the Fourth of July events in the town of Bel Air.

Natalie Brosh is a graduate of the international baccalaureate program at Edgewood High School, where she was president of the National Honor Society, captain of the varsity swim team and a member of the debate team and Christian athlete fellowship.

Currently a music therapy major at Immaculata University in Malvern, Pennsylvania, she participates in a weekly music therapy practicum at a school for the blind. While in high school, she was elected to be the student representative for Harford County's Commission on Disabilities.

Brosh is also the organist, choir director and minister of music at Zion United Church of Christ in Perry Hall, according to a statement from the Bel Air Independence Day Committee.

“We were captivated by Miss Brosh’s compelling resumé of accomplishments, public service, commitment to her community and hope for the future,” Bel Air Independence Day Chair and Miss Bel Air Selection Committee Chair Mike Blum said in a statement.

“But most of all, we were impressed by her courage, her personality, her upbeat attitude and her enthusiasm for being a representative of our committee and our event," Blum said.

As Miss Bel Air Independence Day, Brosh will perform at each flag-raising ceremony on the Fourth of July in town, lead the parade at 6 p.m. down Main Street and give the signal to launch the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

“I would like to thank the Selection Committee for conferring on me this amazing honor,” Brosh said. “I’m very excited to represent my town of Bel Air..."
