Mobile Home Fire Sparked By Space Heater In Edgewood Causes $100K Damage: Official
A space heater in the bedroom of a mobile home started a fire Tuesday morning that caused $100K damage and displaced 6 people.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A mobile home caught on fire early Tuesday morning in Edgewood due to a space heater. Total losses have been estimated at $100,000.
According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the fire broke out at around 6:13 a.m. at 1114 Shady Drive. One of the residents in the mobile home woke up and discovered the fire in her bedroom. She alerted the other residents and everyone escaped in time.
The State Fire Marshal's Office described the blaze as a "fast-moving fire." More than two dozen firefighters with the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded and took 30 minutes to gain control of the fire.

Two adult sisters and four children have been displaced and are being assisted by Harford County Disaster Assistance.
