Motorcycle Crash Ends With Driver Landing In Susquehanna River: Fire Official
A motorcyclist crashed Wednesday on the north side of the Conowingo Dam and ended up in the river below, fire officials reported.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A motorcyclist crashed Wednesday on the north side of the Conowingo Dam. The motorcyclist, self-identified on Facebook as Nikki Bowen, ended up in the waters of the Susquehanna River.
Volunteer firefighters from Darlington Volunteer Fire Company assisted the Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company and Cecil County Department of Emergency Services. A Maryland State Police - Aviation Command medevac was requested to help with rescue efforts. Southbound US-1 and rail traffic were shut down.
"Thank you all for your concern, thoughts and prayers. I am beat up pretty badly, but I am going to make a full recovery. Everyone from the Good Samaritan to the EMT workers, to the chopper crew, to the staff at Shock Trauma were unbelievably kind and wonderful. I can’t thank all of them enough for saving my life," Bowen posted on the fire department's Facebook page.
