Motorcyclist Killed In Head-On Collision With A Minivan In Harford County: MD State Police

A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash with a minivan that happened in Harford County, according to Maryland State Police.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A motorcyclist traveling south on U.S. Route 1 was killed in a collision Monday night.

Around 5:45 p.m., troopers from the Bel Air Barrack responded to the report of a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on U.S. Route 1 just south of MD Route 136. According to a preliminary investigation, a Toyota Sienna was traveling north on U.S. Route 1 just before Route 136.

The police department stated that for unknown reasons, the driver of the Toyota Sienna headed into the southbound lane when the driver saw the motorcycle. Both drivers then attempted to move onto the southbound shoulder to avoid crashing and collided head-on, according to the Maryland State Police

The driver of the Harley Davidson motorcycle, identified as Anthony L. Taylor, 52, of Darlington, was airlifted by Maryland State Police helicopter to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died of his injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the Sienna, a 41-year-old man, did not report any injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
U.S. Route 1 was closed for approximately two hours.
