Two-Alarm Fire Displaces Edgewood Residents: Fire Marshal
Several townhouses were impacted by a fire on Sunday night in Edgewood, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reported.
EDGEWOOD, MD — A group of townhomes in Edgewood was damaged Sunday night by a two-alarm fire. Several residents were displaced as a result, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Crews responded at 10:54 p.m. after a resident discovered the blaze in the 900 block of Olive Branch Court, officials said.
Her townhome was completely destroyed by the fire, according to the fire marshal, who estimated the structural damage was about $275,000.

Approximately 60 firefighters responded and brought the fire under control within 90 minutes, according to the fire marshal.
The house where the fire began was in the middle of a group of townhomes, and adjacent townhomes were also damaged from exposure to the fire.

While investigators determined the fire began on the back deck of one home, the cause remains under investigation Monday, the fire marshal reported.
All of the impacted owners and residents are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross, the fire marshal reported.

PREVIOUS REPORT — Officials say that a two-alarm fire has been reported Sunday night in Edgewood. Crews were at the scene as of 11 p.m., according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
At least three townhouses were ablaze in the 900 block of Olive Branch Court, the fire company reported, noting that a second alarm had been called.
The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported that its engine was at the location assisting.
Five volunteers and an engine were dispatched from the Susquehanna Hose Company to cover the Abingdon Fire Company's calls since its crew was at the scene of the townhouse blaze.
