Couple IDed In Suspected Murder-Suicide: Harford County Sheriff

A couple in Street died in a possible murder-suicide Thursday night, authorities reported. Here's the latest on the investigation.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A potential murder-suicide is under investigation Thursday night in Harford County. A married couple from Street was found deceased; both had been fatally shot, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Brenda Johns, 72, was found with a gunshot wound and her husband, Charles Johns, was in another room with what officials said was believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both were deceased when officers arrived.

Deputies were called to the 3600 block of Conowingo Road at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Thursday after a family member found the couple dead in the residence, authorities reported.

The motive in the shootings and the time of death have not been confirmed, officials said in a statement Friday morning.

In August 2014, there was a murder-suicide in Street. A man shot his girlfriend and then himself, and an infant was injured in that incident, officials said.
