
Myra Williams, 61, of Bel Air, passed away on Dec. 7, 2015, at her home.
Born in Baltimore, she is the daughter of Johnny George Vandevander and the late Ermaline Bella (Marcomin) Vandevander. She was employed at General Motors in Baltimore for five years before starting her own daycare, Sunshine’s Teddy Bear Day Care in Bel Air, which she ran for 26 years. For eight of those years, she served as Vice President of the Day Care Association of Harford County. She then served for nine years as the President of the Day Care Association of Harford County. She was involved with the Board of Education and sat on several committees working to improve the education and safety of children. She was a member of the American Legion Post #39 in Bel Air and was First Vice President of the Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Charles “Pete” E. Williams; daughter, Valerie Nicole Estes and husband, Brad Scott Mumpower, of Havre de Grace; son Steven Kyle Estes; sisters, Karen French and Lynne Comegys both of Dundalk; and grandchildren, Emily Baird, Jacob Estes, Noah Estes and Aurora Estes. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her brother, Roy Vandevander and grandchildren, Austin Baird and Travis Baird.

A Memorial Service will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1645 E. Churchville Rd Belair, MD 21015 on Friday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m., followed by a reception at Havre de Grace Community Center, 100 Lagaret Ln, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
