National Frozen Custard Day: Where To Celebrate Near Bel Air

BEL AIR, MD — For those who need a reason to indulge in a sweet summer treat, Thursday is National Frozen Custard Day. Around Bel Air, those looking to get a deal should head over to Rita's.

Customers at Rita's nationwide can get a promotional-size frozen custard for 99 cents on Thursday, Aug. 8. The limit is one order per person.

Frozen custard differs from ice cream in that it has egg yolks added to its list of ingredients.

"Frozen custard has been at the core of our business since it was added to our menu more than 25 years ago, and while we're most widely known for our famous Italian ice, our guests can't get enough of our award-winning soft-serve frozen custard," Chief Marketing Officer at Rita's Italian Ice Phyllis Savar Levy said in a statement.

The National Custard Day promotion will be available from noon to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8.
