Drake, Samuel L. Jackson-Backed Hot Chicken Coming To MoCo: Report

A franchisee of Dave's Hot Chicken, a national restaurant chain that counts Drake and Samuel L. Jackson among its celebrity backers, signed a lease to open a restaurant at White Oak Town Center in Silver Spring, reports the Washington Business Journal.

Baltimore Sun Sold To Sinclair Chairman David Smith

The Baltimore Sun newspaper has been purchased by David D. Smith, the executive chairman of television station owner Sinclair Inc., the publication reported Monday night. Smith, an active contributor to conservative causes, bought Baltimore Sun Media from the investment firm Alden Global Capital. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Celebrate Year Of The Dragon At Westfield Montgomery Mall In Bethesda

Westfield Montgomery will be celebrating the Lunar New Year on Feb. 10, marking the year of the dragon. The Bethesda mall will be hosting the celebration in partnership with the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center, a nonprofit organization that serves Montgomery County’s Chinese American community.

Fooduary Kicks Off Feb. 2 At National Harbor With Cooking Classes

Make plans to swing by National Harbor next month for Fooduary, which kicks off Feb. 2. More than 25 restaurants are participating in this celebration of food and entertainment with specially priced prix fixe menus, cooking and cocktail class demonstrations from chefs and bartenders, along with other specials and giveaways. The event runs through Feb. 11.
