New Head Of School Named For Harford Day
Susan Bond Kearney will take over as the head of Harford Day School starting with the 2019–2020 academic year.

From Harford Day School: Harford Day School has announced that Mrs. Susan Bond Kearney has accepted the position of Head at Harford Day School for school year 2019-2020. Mrs. Kearney comes to Harford Day from St. Paul’s School in Lutherville, Maryland, where she had been Assistant Head.
Having been at St. Paul’s for more than 20 years, Mrs. Kearney oversaw academic affairs and
curriculum review. She also led the Academic Council, a group of academic leaders whose work
focuses on faculty growth and development, department review and inclusivity. She has served on the
Board of Trustees’ Finance and Property Committees and was co-chair of the AIMS Accreditation
Steering Committee. Susan has taught an information technology course in the Upper School and has been an affiliate faculty member at the Loyola University of Maryland School of Education. She currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees of the Irvine Nature Center.

Dr. Fred Kuhn, President of the Board of Trustees, said, “We were greatly impressed by Susan’s
outstanding references. We were equally impressed by her unparalleled experience and long list of
accomplishments at St. Paul’s.”
Because of all the exceptional Harford Day graduates who have come to St. Paul’s over the years,
Susan said she feels a natural connection to HDS. “Harford Day students have consistently been
among our superstars, which I know reflects the school’s academics, faculty, core values, and
nurturing environment. I’m thrilled to be asked to lead such an outstanding community.”
Harford Day School is a private school for students Age 3 through Grade 8, offering an enriched
curriculum and small classes. The School is located on Moores Mill Road in Bel Air.
